    Q. What is Sedation Dentistry?
    A. Sedation Dentistry can be accomplished in many forms: intravenous, oral, or with nitrous oxide gas. Intravenous sedation is the administration of a tranquilizer drug into the vein with a very thin needle. The sedative produces a state of deep relaxation.
    Q. Who can benefit from IV Sedation Dentistry?
A. Anyone who:
  • Needs a procedure that they worried might normally be painful
  • Has a fear of dentistry
  • Doesn't like needles, injections, sounds associated with dentistry
  • Has a severe gag reflex
  • Cannot get numb
  • Needs fewer visits to complete significant dental care
  • Wants a comfortable, relaxing environment
  • Has not had good past dental experience
    Q. What will it be like during the appointment?
    A. You will be in a completely relaxed amd comfortable state. You will be able to respond, but will not feel pain.
    Q. What do I do before my IV sedation appointment?
    A. You will be instructed to take some pills one hour prior to the appointment. You should not eat or drink at least 8 hours prior to your appointment. Someone must drive you to and from the appointment.
